The Blue Hen Leadership Program - Houston

Support the BHLP

The Blue Hen Leadership Program (BHLP) is a multi-tiered leadership development program, part of which facilitates student-initiated, student-organized and student-led service trips around the nation to help others in need.

This is the fifth year of the Blue Hen Leadership Program's Winter Alternative Break experience and its first year traveling to Houston, TX. In years past, participants have contributed over 3500 hours of service on our winter alternative break trips and forged friendships that will last a lifetime.

This year, our students' hard work continues as they engage in disaster relief and recovery in Houston, TX. Participants serve the Houston community on this 8-day service trip; engage in reflection to learn more about the disaster relief, service and leadership; and get to know the local community and its members.

Alternative Breaks offer great opportunities to make new friends, reflect on a personal level, learn new insights about service and community engagement and gain a greater appreciation for what we usually take for granted.
